Don't think twice, just buy it!
I had no idea rechargeable pedestal fans existed, I searched on-line in desperation after the announcement of yet more power cuts in peak summer. When unpacking it, it felt very plasticky and not very sturdy, so I was dubious. The positive on this front is that it is very light to carry. The water tank at the back holds a decent amount and can get you through the night on mist level 2. When the power goes out, the power of the fan drops slightly, but that really isn't an issue, you can set it a little higher to cover for when the power cuts. Contrary to other reviews, the mist setting does still work well when using the battery. The battery does last through a 2.5hr power cut, but when you have 3-4 cuts per day, it doesn't have time to recharge properly. I phoned the Eurolux company and they were really helpful, every person was bright and helpful, very refreshing! I had noticed a red and black banana plug point on the back of the pedestal. I asked if I could connect it safely to a house alarm battery and they said yes! Order banana clips, crocodile clips and a suitable cord at the same time. If you have an older house alarm battery that isn't coping with the alarm system, you'll find it still works well with the fan! We charge ours using an external car battery charger. This fan has been the best thing ever, I need to use a leash on it to wheel it with me everywhere:)

Good looking fan that was easy to assemble (even though the instructions were not good at all). The fan has 7 speeds (more than specified) and works well. The LED light is very bright (but easily turned off). The remote works well and is very handy. My only gripes would be that when you turn the fan on, it's automatically at level 5 which is quite hard, so you have to push the buttons a few times to get to where you want to be (similar to the mist - you have to click from level 1 to 3 to turn it off but at least that starts on level 1), and my main gripe would be the uncertainty around the battery. The instructions are super vague. It says to keep the battery off while charging - I assume this is the switch at the back and that it's then fine if the fan is running with electricity while charging, but then, if there is loadshedding in the night you must either wake up when the fan turns off and flip the switch to battery, or just have it running of battery the whole night, which seems like a waste of the battery. In short, it would be nice if it switched over automatically. Still happy overall, just hope that with all my consideration put into preserving the battery, that it lasts a long time (as of right now, it easily lasts through the night).

I don't think there is enough typing space for all the amazing things I have to say about this fan. It is beyond fantastic! When charged it can go for many hours, even longer than a 4 hour load shed. It has many settings and plenty of power, I haven't even needed to go anywhere near the highest setting, or use the mist function as it is that good. I read some negative reviews about it being made in plastic, I have a Russel Hobs mist fan that doesn't charge that cost me more than double this that is also made of plastic! Who wants to cart around a heavy fan? This fan has changed my life with load shedding, wouldn't be able to sleep without it! Tried to buy another one but they have been out of stock.

Best fan for loadshedding
This is such an amazing fan. Once the battery on the fan lasted me for almost 24 hours during a power outage. I had to lower the speed to get more hours in. kept me cool thankfully. super easy to install as well. most recommended.

After 1 year review
Great product. Work great. Love the way the fan work with remote and all different menus. I do not use the misting system. Only bad thing about this product is the battery for which I bought this product. After less than 1 year usage this battery do not last 20min on a full charge. Unfortunately I will not buy this battery fan again, but will use as a normal expensive fan.

It keeps me cool at night and is easy to move around.
The water spray definitely helps. It is not an air conditioner, so one cannot expect air-conditioning qualities.
3 stars because the battery life dropped suddenly. -

I use this fan in my bedroom, as I could not sleep at night due to the heat here in Cape Town. Am only using it on the first setting, as it is cool enough. The mist setting will be on 3 till I switch the light off, and then it is only the fan blowing. Too soon to tell anything about the battery, but it lasted seven hours on setting one before I plugged it in again. Fan stop when the power goes off, you have to physically start it and set it to the required speed again.
Totally worth it for me, room is always cool when I go to bed, no matter what the temperature outside is, and I do not have to have it running the whole time, five minutes on setting one with the mist on is all that is needed. -
Good value
Really like the fact that it has 9 speed settings. The misting function also works well. Note that the remote cannot control the swinging function though there's a button for it on the remote. you have to manually switch the rotating pin as you do with most fans over the last 40 years. The LED light is also a nifty extra. If you set the fan not to swing/rotate you can hear the movement of the gears- almost like a crunching noise, but it's not too loud. Been sleeping soundly with it on for a couple of weeks now.

This fan is just absolutely perfect for loadshedding, no more late night sweats because of load shedding or being bitten by mosquitoes. I love the misting function and the water container is big enough to drop in some ice cubes. The misting function is also great for keeping the air hydrated for those with sinus issues. Had to get a handyman to help me assemble because one of the bolts for holding the nets was missing. So really not great. Besides that very happy

What a pleasure. No more sweating at night during loadshedding. Battery lasts 2 and a half hours on medium speed and mist for fase 1 load shedding. For heavy load shedding, I bought a 12V 7.2Ah battery and small trickel charger for backup power supply. It has 2 female jacks at the back, and I made up a lead to connect the battery to the fan. It is way above my expectation.

This keeps me cool in the Paarl heat, it has about 2.5 hours of runtime on battery, provided you are running it on low. The mist is great, I hardly use it though. I generally have this on level 3 throughout the day and level 1 at night. Overall, this is a good buy.

Goos for loadshedding
This is a charging fan with mister. It runs for about 5 hours on a low setting from battery. It’s a bit flimsy but seems to be working well. My only gripe is that the instruction booklet was not for this model so I had to figure out on my own how to assemble it.
