I bought a Platinum fan from Checkers a couple of years ago and it started giving me trouble and needed a lot of hand holding to kick start the motor, so I decided to put it into retirement and replaced it with this fan, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The motor is nice and quiet compared with my previous fan and I like retro styling of this fan. I like the dial on the base of the fan to control the speed of the motor (I wondered what those weird numbers were in the photo on the website), its much more accessible than trying to be some kind of contortionist to change the speed settings behind the fan itself.
